Uganda 2007

David and I will be going to Uganda this summer so I've decided to start this blog to share those experiences with friends and family. Access to the internet will be sporadic while we're gone but I will try to post as often as possible. Two recent graduates, Lexie Emerson from Faulkner and Seth Neller from Harding, will be joining us. Our departure date is approaching quickly, May 22. I hope to have Lexie, Seth and David share their thoughts and plans here too.

It's an exciting time for me. I love traveling and I'm anxious to get to Africa and see Irene and the children. It's still very hard to believe that Moses won't be coming to pick us up but I think the trip will be very healing, especially for David. So, the tickets are bought, the passports have arrived, Lexie and Seth have gotten their shots. Now, we make final preps with our contacts, decide which malaria medicine to take and pack our bags. DJ, of course, has a whole lot more to do to get ready. He's got to finish the semester teaching and grading first. Oh and we did buy a house closer to Faulkner's campus and will be moving in the next two weeks I guess. I tried to make a packing list last summer so it's probably time to look for that and re-read my diary from the last trip to jog my memory.

Ok, I hope this blog thing works out. I look forward to your sharing the trip with me. At the moment, I'm overwhelmed by God's love and blessings.

Look at you, Miss Blog! I'm so excited for your trip. I get to go to Africa with you via your blog this year! (Though one day I want to go with you in the flesh.)

Congrats on the new blog. It looks lovely. And I love getting to see your face! You might put a few entries in your personal profile so people can search for you by common interests. That's my only suggestion.

Love ya more than m'luggage!

We were going to come to Montgomery to help you move, but we've decided to visit you in Jinja instead. We're arriving on Sunday, June 27.

second try at posting, in case you got the first one. somehow my google blogger account keeps kicking by password to the curb, and I have to start all over again. it's really frustrating, especially since i always have such worthwhile things to say and share with the world.

i'm glad to finally read your blog. sounds as if you are really doing some good there. keep it up, and if lara gets there before we do, i'll be really mad.

God Bless!

p.s. sorry we missed you in Montgomery a couple weeks ago. we were looking forward to seeing the house, but like Bobby and Candice, we were very careful with the timing of the visit.
